Welcome to my website. My name is Jamie Heffernan and I’m an Australian-based tour guide with a difference.

I have always loved to travel, especially to Asia, which is why I decided to complete my university studies in Korea. It was a formative time and gave me a deep respect for Korean culture along with a deep understanding of daily life there. It was also when I learned to speak Korean fluently.

My journey in the tourism industry began soon after, when I was granted a business visa and offered a key role at an international hotel in Seoul. This allowed me to learn even more about Korea and its people and also to introduce guests to this fascinating culture.

Later I travelled to Japan, learning to speak Japanese while living and working in the tourism industry there.

Being fluent in both Korean and Japanese allows me to easily engage with local communities and to forge meaningful connections that continue to enrich the experiences of my clients whenever they travel with me.

My clients tell me that I offer much more than surface-level experiences. I avoid what I call ‘tick-box tours’ where there is little time to savour and understand the places we visit. Instead, I take a thoughtful approach with authentic local encounters that reveal the true essence of each destination.

Throughout our travels together, I provide more than guidance — I offer reassurance and support, empowering you to immerse yourself fully in new experiences and cultures with confidence.

My tours are a mix of structured excursions and ample free time for you to rest and soak up the local culture at your own pace while you explore my curated list of eateries, experiences and the captivating landscapes and vibrant cultures of Korea and Japan.

All my tours are deeply grounded in a philosophy of respect. Respect for nature, for culture and most importantly, for the people we meet along the way.
